When it comes to alternative forms of medical care, there are a number of options. For those needing assistance with specific conditions, these can include acupressure, acupuncture, Chinese herbalists, chiropractors and massage therapists. Whereas, individuals only seeking to harmonize mind body and spirit Torrance, free-form dance or Yoga are often good options.

While there are a number of dance studios and classes around the world, non-alcohol bare-foot smoke-free improvisational dance groups can often provide a place of peace where one can let go and become one with the dance. Whereas, Yoga classes are offered in a number of different locations and settings. As both offer a place of "letting go, " and freeing oneself from thoughts of the mind, each activity often helps individuals find more balance in life.

Many individuals attend classes to learn various techniques, then begin practicing at home. For those who have a strong sense of self-dedication this can be a good way to assure maintaining balance. It was centuries ago that Yoga first began as the 6th School of Hinduism in India. Later, the practice was introduced into the Western world by Yogis whom came to the United States and other locations to teach the practice. It was not until the 1980s that the practice became popular in many areas of the United States, Canada and Europe. At which time, the practice became better known as an aspect of Hindu mysticism and philosophy rather than religion.

While there have been a number of studies which have attempted to show the results of yoga on different health related issues such as heart disease, asthma, schizophrenia and cancer, results have been mixed. While this is the case, balancing and calming the mind has shown beneficial to concentration. Whereas, basic breathing, movement and stretching techniques have shown to assist with overcoming physical pain.

In most cases, goals of those practicing various forms of Yoga are liberation of self and finding more focus in life. As with free-form dance, results often include becoming more alert and self-aware after each session. In addition, individuals often feel more energetic and relaxed through allowing the mind to be free of thoughts which can often inhibit these realities.

Ultimately, whether participating in a free form dance group or practicing Yoga, individuals are going to see more balance and harmony in life. In addition, sharing space with others of similar interest can also be beneficial in this area. For, when one can commune with others, relax and let go of negative thoughts while involved in exercise that also benefits the body, the individual often becomes more balanced in all areas of life.
