The representatives of the state of Tennessee have recently been trying to decide whether to approve a bill that was passed that would allow people to use medicinal marijuana legally. In a nutshell, this bill that would approve Tennessee marijuana legalization would allow people to use the drug as a medicine for some of their diseases. Marijuana or also known as cannabis, has been illegal in this state for the longest time but this bill aims to make cannabis legal as long as it is for medicinal purposes.
Now this bill created by the representative Sherry Jones. His primary concern with the use of cannabis is that there are many people who are suffering from diseases that would cause them a lot of pain. He states that people undergoing these pains would actually benefit from taking cannabis as it would numb the pain.
Representative Jones states that there is a big misunderstanding when it comes to the usage of this substance. The thing about it is that people would often just blow it up and get high causing them to do a lot of things that is dangerous to the public. However, it can also be used as medicines such as syrups or lotions.
Now if this bill becomes a law, then those who are suffering from fatal diseases or illnesses will be able to use it as a cure. Now the main condition that one would have to fulfill before using it would be to get a prescription from a doctor first. After that, he must get this prescription approved by the state health department.
Of course not everyone will be allowed to use this drug legally even if this law permits. Now before one would be allowed to use this drug, the authorities will be doing a background check on him. If the authorities find that he has a drug abuse record or criminal record, then he will still not be allowed to use it even if he is sick.
Now even if one would already be permitted to use this drug, there are some restrictions as to where he could use it. He may not use it in public transportation, in school grounds, or in basically any public place. As long as there are people who could be affected by the second hand smoke, one cannot take the drug there.
Now the name of this bill is known as the Koozer Kuhn Medical Cannabis act. The name of the bill came from the name of a young girl named Piper Koozer who had a certain seizure disorder. Her parents were able to improve her condition by giving her an oil that actually had some parts of the marijuana plant.
It was because of this child that Sherry Jones tried to pass the bill in the last year. However, he was not able to succeed in passing it as the top did not agree with his point of view. Today, it is a different story as many people are already requesting the legalization of this substance as long as it is medical.
