How To Clean Rhinestone Jewelry And Restore Its Luster

For most jewel enthusiasts, it could be very uncomfortable to appear before people adorned in such an item. This makes it useful to adopt simple, safe and effective ways of removing smudge from the item. Most dirt is as a result of sweat, dust, make up and other particles. Proper cleaning will restore the item to its original state thus allowing the owner to enjoy using it for long.

Spray the glass surface on the ornament or dip your brush into the soap solution and start scrubbing. Avoid using a lot of water on the rhinestones as this can dissolve the glue used for sticking the stones.

You may use a clean cloth to wipe the cotton swab or squeeze it with your hands. Dip it in the water and keep it damp as you continue rubbing the stones. After several rounds of scrubbing, you should notice the jewels beginning to shine again.

Finish up the process by applying jewel polishing liquid on a soft cloth and rubbing it on the stones. You need to make sure that the jewels are dry before packing them for storage. Pack each piece separate to avoid causing abrasions. A soft, cotton bag is recommended for storage of jewels. An alternative is to use fabric-lined ornament box.
